LUCKY

Boy, do we feel LUCKY!

We added this furry friend to our family on 8/23/14.

This was the ultimate in excitement for Abby, Ashley, and Carson!

For years, Abby has been begging for a dog.  For years,  I have said no. All the signs were perfect for Lucky to join our family. Here's the story:

The kids and I walked into DSW on 8/20/14 and saw a man walking his dog on the sidewalk.  Seriously, walking right in front of this incredibly awesome shoe store.  I, not being the biggest dog lover on the planet, said "What a cute dog you have!"  The kids instantly bent down to pet him and he seemed to love them and their grabby hands.  The owner said he's looking for a new home... I asked a few questions, got his name and number, and off we went (with a little, ok BIG, wonder if this dog is meant for us).  This was our information: he's 3 years old, trained, barely barks, barely sheds, is 14 pounds, loves kids, healthy, from Lucan (a small town my relatives live in!!), his owner's name is Sean (my brother-in-law's name!), he's free, and he's clean  :)  Oh, and my kids have ALL been begging for a dog all summer.  Later that day I texted Sean that we are very interested in his dog and would like to meet at Dog Day Getaway (in Apple Valley) on 8/23/14.  He said the sooner the better.  Our fabulous neighbor, Nicole, who owns DDG, gave us the lead to bring him to her work so she could check out the dog and see if he's a fit for us.  YES, two thumbs up from Nicole and this dog became OURS.  We re-named him LUCKY.  Ashley burst into tears of joy when she realized we were keeping him (hence the red face).  He willingly jumped into our car and has been a gem of a dog.  We think he's pretty lucky to have us as we are to have him... the kids are SO helpful with him and right now it seems like Ashley is his favorite.

Just got a fresh groom today  :)
