Date Weekend in NYC

Seth and I went on a 3-night date to New York City!  This is the view from our room, the Marriott Marquis, in Times Square.  If I would have taken this picture in the evening, you wouldn't see the street because people are EVERYWHERE!!!!

The 9/11 Memorial is still in the making, but the finished parts are amazing.  There are 2 pools/waterfalls with all the names of those taken on September 11, 2001.  God be with them.

This is the Freedom Tower, almost finished, that replaces the Twin Towers.

My hubby surprised me with a cake decorating class at Carlo's Bakery!  Seth is a huge fan of "The Cake Boss" show!  We were able to use fondant to design our cakes and take them home.  They traveled well with us and yes, the cake is delicious... the best cake I've ever eaten!

The actual Carlo's Bake Shop!  They monitor the number of people going in - it's not chaos like they show on TV!  We bought a few bakery items and yes, they were yummy delicious, too!  Go Buddy!

Our last day was rainy, but Central Park still showed off its beauty.

We went to the Jimmy Fallon show, with special guest Amy Pohler, and loved it!  We were selected to stand behind the guest band at the end of the show and made our debut on live television!  We were told "don't just stand there!" and Seth sure was good about showing his dancin' moves  :)  We went to a live comedy show that same night and had a constant smile/laugh plastered to our faces!  We had a blast!  Another evening we went to "The Madrid," an off-Broadway show starring Edie Falco (from Nurse Jackie & The Sopranos).  Seeing her in the intimate theater up close was so cool, but the show itself, not good... bummer.  All in all, NYC was a great getaway, with miles of walking, holding hands, eating out - in the Bodegas!, having cocktails, riding in wreckless taxis, and people watching.  New Yorkers are on-the-go constantly and stay up way too late!  :)  Thanks to my mama for watching our little munchkins so we could go be just the two of us  :)
